1. There are several ways to add Quotes to Barchart for Excel. You can use the Quote function as well as Lists. You can also add quotes using Barchart's custom Excel functions. |
2. To begin click the Quote button in the Barchart for Excel ribbon. Enter a symbol, like IBM. At the bottom of the window you can then Edit the Fields you want to display. |
3. Let's add Moving Averages from the Technical Analysis fields. And then click Insert. |
4. Your data has been added to Excel. |
5. Let's add more symbols. Click on cell A1 which is a "Quotes" anchor cell. Then click the "Quote" button in the ribbon. |
6. Enter several symbols, separated by commas and click Insert. |
7. Your symbols have been added. |
8. Let's now add some quotes from a List. Click Stocks. |
9. Let's select New Highs & Lows and click Insert. |
10. This is a long list, so let's Sort it by stocks with the most new 52 week highs. Highlight all of the data, then click on the Data menu and then click on Sort. |
11. Let's Sort by 52 week Highs, and then Order by Largest to Smallest. |
12. Your data has been Sorted. |
13. Next, let's add some data from the Options menu. |
14. Let's select Most Active Options and click Insert. This will add stock quotes with the highest options volume on the day. |
15. This list was narrowed to the top 10, but you can adjust the number of rows to display in the prior settings window. Next we'll take a look at using Barchart's custom Excel Functions for inserting quotes and data fields on the fly. |
16. With our custom functions you can add data anywhere inside of Excel, and copy paste the functions to efficiently create quote boards and other data tables. Use the function =BERTD as illustrated on the screen. You can reference symbols or cells. |
