1. The first step to create a new quiz question is to open the course Homepage and click Grades.

2. Click Quizzes.

3. Click the arrow next to the appropriate quiz.

4. Click Edit.

5. Click Create New.

6. Click New Question.

7. Click the type of question you want to add. In this case, click Fill in the Blanks.

8. Click the Title Box if you would like to create an identifying title for the question.

9. Set the point value of the question.

10. Set the difficulty level of the question.

11. If you want to use an image as part of your question, click Insert an Image.

12. Upload the desired image.

13. If you use an image, click and update the Alternative Text Box.

14. Click the Text #1 Box to add the question text that comes before the blank or blanks.

15. Click the Answer Box to fill in the correct answer for the blank. If students need to fill in more than one blank, select Add Answer.

16. Set the weight of each answer. With only one answer, the weight should be 100%. If there are two or more blanks, adjust the weight accordingly.
You can also give variations of words that might be used to fill in a single blank with different weights.

17. Click whether the answer is Case Insensitive, Case Sensitive, or a Regular Expression.

18. Click the Text #2 box to add the question text that comes after the blank or blanks.

19. Click the Question Hint Box if you would like to provide a hint.

20. Click the Question Feedback Box if you would like to provide standard feedback for the question.

21. Click Preview to see how the question will appear to students.

22. Once you have reviewed the question, click Done.

23. Make any necessary changes to the question and then click Save.

24. That's it. You're done.
