1. To attach a Grade Item to a Topic, click Communication (next to Content on the Navbar).

2. Click Discussions (the last option on the drop-down menu).

3. Click the down-arrow next to Topic.

4. Click Edit Topic (the third option on the drop-down menu).

5. Click Assessment (the tab next to Restrictions).

6. Click Choose a grade item. 

It's best to set up your gradebook, in OAKS, prior to setting up activities and assessments.

7. Select Top Issue for this example.

8. Click the Score Out Of text box.

9. How many points is this Discussion worth? The score should match your Grade Item.

Type in 10 for this example.

10. Scroll down and click Save and Close (blue button).
