1. Turnitin is enabled using New Assignment or Edit Assignment. The first step is to click Activities in the toolbar, and choose Assignments. We'll go through it using Edit. Click the down-arrow near the assignment you want to edit.

2. Click Edit Assignment.

3. Click the arrow for Evaluation & Feedback. The process is the same when you are creating a new assignment

4. Click the button Manage Turnitin

5. Check the top button to enable the Similarity Report. An AI report is included but doesn't have a checkmark here.

6. On this screen, you can click the Display button to allow students to view Similiarty scores. There is no way for students to view AI scores. The Similarity score can be misguiding about issues, so you may want not to click the Display option.

7. After you are done editing this page, click Save

8. Back on the Assignment page, click Save and Close. Activation will take a few minutes.

9. To generate reports, go to the Assignments list and click the down-arrow of an assignment. The binoculars-document icon means Turnitin is enabled.

10. Click View Submissions

11. Click the report symbol to generate the Turnitin report. Each report will take a few minutes.

12. While those reports are generating, we'll look at reports for a different assignment. Click the arrow to View Submission.

13. The score on this page reflects Similiarity only, and not AI use, so it is not a good basis for evaluting issues in the paper. Choose a submission and click on the Turnitin score to open the report.

14. Report information is located to the right of the document. The second layer, in red, contains the similarity report. AI results are the last layer, in blue.
