3. On the Oria start page (New Search), you will find a link to the information page about electronic access at UiB (UiB network).

4. To access library's subscribed content, you must be connected to the UiB network.

You can either use a UiB computer on campus or connect via VPN on your personal device.

Guides for setting up a VPN connection can be found on our help pages.

5. Access to full text

6. Once connected to the network, you can safely explore the library's resources.

Start by searching for a topic you're interested in, or for a specific article in Oria.

7. On many article entries you will find a direct link to the PDF-file (Download PDF).

8. Alternatively, you can use the direct link to the online version of the full text at the publisher (Go to full text).

9. If you click on the link labeled "Available online", or on the article title, a window with more information will appear.

10. In the section "View It" you will find one or more links to access the full text.

11. Click on one of the links to go to the resource.

Note that most of the full text links will take you directly to the article. However, some may lead to the publisher's website, where you will need to locate the article manually.

13. If you search directly in a database, for example Web of Science, you'll be presented with different options to open the full text.

Use the "Full Text at Publisher" link to access the article on the publisher's website.

14. Some databases may display a "Full Text @ University of Bergen" link or a UiB button.

This link will send you to Oria and perform a search to find a matching title in our catalog.

15. The result will be an automatically generated page that combines metadata from the previous page with library holdings and subscriptions.

Here, you will either find a link to the full text or information about availability.

16. If it says "No full text available" in the "View It" section, it usually means that UiB does not have a subscription to this journal.

17. However, this matching process is not always flawless and may occasionally produce incorrect results.

To ensure the title is available, we recommend performing a new search directly in Oria.

18. If you suspect that we should have access to the article, but it is not working as expected, you can report the issue by clicking on the "Report Broken Link" link.

20. Unavailable articles or other documents we don't have access to can be ordered through the library.

Click on the "Request Loan/Copy" button (under "Request") to order a document delivery. Remember that you must be logged into Oria to place an order.

21. Make sure the details in the request form are accurate and that the pickup location is on your campus.

22. You can also include a comment if needed. For example a link to the article.

Then click "Request" to send the order to the library.

23. Once the request is placed you will either receive the article electronically or get a pick-up notice when the article has arrived at the library in printed form and is available for pickup.

24. Now you know how to obtain the full text of a journal article and how to order articles without full text access.

Contact the Library if you have any further questions. Go to the Library's website for contact details and more.
