1. When you access a student's exam paper in the Marking Tool, you can create comments and annotations directly in the exam paper.
They can be shared with the student.

If necessary, see the separate guide: "Navigate the marking tool".

2. In the More options menu, you can, among other things: Download the individual responses or see the different keyboard shortcuts under 'Settings'.

3. Select Full screen to read the submission in full screen.

4. Select Panel to see an overview of all the pages in the exam paper.

5. Select Control shortcuts to see more page view options.

6. In the Zoom settings, you may set your zoom precentage on the page.

7. You can see the number of words and characters to the right.

8. Here you will also find the Search function.

9. You may search for words in the Search function. You can also choose whether you want your search to be case-sensitive, or whether you want to search only for whole words.

10. You can also see an overview of all annotations in the paper.

11. Select View if you want to show the paper without the annotation tools.

12. Select 'Annotate' if you want to view and use the annotation tools.

13. There are many options for making annotations and comments. You can, for instance: Underline, highlight and strikethrough, and you can change the color of the different annotations.

14. You can also add comments to your annotations. Select Comment to add a comment.

15. Here you can leave a comment and choose who you want to share it with.

16. As default, comments and annotations are not shared. Annotations can be shared with co-assessors immediately,  while annotations for students are only shared after the assessment deadline.

17. You can also write directly in the papar using either Text or Notes.

18. With 'Text' you write a note directly in the paper, while with 'Notes' you can add a small speech bubble, which you can comment on under 'Annotations'.

19. Under Shapes, you can draw different shapes or lines freehand.

20. Under Insert you can add e.g. stamps and signatures.

21. You can see an overview of all your annotations on the right side. You can edit individual comments by selecting them.
